Akshay Bhatia is one of the brightest young talents on the PGA Tour.
Having turned professional in 2019, Bhatia joined the PGA Tour in 2023 and won that year for the first time on the circuit at the Barracuda Championship.
But the best day thus far in his PGA Tour career came at the 2024 Valero Texas Open where he beat Denny McCarthy in a playoff, having held quite a chunky lead during the final round.
In 2024, the popular left-hander reached the Tour Championship which is the season finale for the top 30 players of the year. There should be plenty more to come from the LA-born star and not only do we see him circulating golf’s most prestigious schedule, but we are also treated to his presence on social media courtesy of his future wife.
Presleigh Schultz received a message on Instagram from Bhatia asking her out in 2021 and two years later, he was down on one knee asking her to marry him. Despite knowing nothing about golf, Schultz has previously worked as Bhatia’s caddie during his ascension to the top of the game.
After he won in the pro game for the first time at the Barracuda, Bhatia spoke from the heart about how Schultz has been by his side through his rise.

“She has been through it all with me. She had no idea what golf was when I met her. Now she travels every week with me, and it is not easy because it is all about me 100% of the time.
“For her to support me every week and walk 72 holes, I couldn’t imagine my life without her and being on this journey without her. She has done a lot for me.”

It goes without saying Schultz enjoys travelling with Bhatia and supporting him at each event which has been made clear on her TikTok empire which is nearly at the 100,000-follower mark with over 2 million likes totted up.
One of her most recent posts on TikTok was of her and Bhatia with boxes full of sweets out in front of their house in North Carolina, ready for trick-or-treaters on Halloween to pick up. Schultz also has over 35,000 followers on Instagram.

Shortly after Bhatia won the Valero Texas Open, Schultz posted a video of Bhatia talking through his shoulder mishap in the final round in a somewhat self-deprecating fashion. After holing a putt on the 18th to force a playoff, Bhatia fist-pumped so intensely that he popped his shoulder out of place. Luckily, he was able to go on and win the event.
It is always interesting to get an insight and a look behind the curtain of the lives of tour players. Some of Schultz’s TikTok content does just this like when she took us through Bhatia’s pre-round preparation for each of the first two rounds of the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon.
Schultz is not the only partner of a PGA Tour star that posts this type of content.
