12 months ago, Adrian Meronk claimed his fourth DP World Tour title and pocketed €602,907.98 from the Andalucia Masters prize money. This time, it was Julien Guerrier who won his first DP World Tour title 19 years after his debut.
Jon Rahm headed to Real Club Sotogrande to complete his four-event quota on the DP World Tour which allowed him to keep his membership for 2025. He has fines to pay for playing in conflicting LIV Golf events, but while he has appealed them, he is allowed to compete on the Old World Circuit. He came in outright sixth.
As well as Rahm, fellow Spaniards and LIV Golfers David Puig and Eugenio Chacarra made the trip to the golf course that is just around the corner from Valderrama, which is now a LIV Golf venue. They respectively finished tied for 12th and 28th.
The Andalucia Masters was inaugurated in 2010 and won by Graeme McDowell. Sergio Garcia then won the event three times in a row but between 2012 and 2017, the tournament wasn’t held.
Matt Fitzpatrick added to the illustrious list of winners at this tournament that used to be held at Valderrama before Greg Norman’s breakaway circuit commandeered it as a host golf course of their schedule.
