Who is the proud owner of the record for the most shots on a par-3? Si Woo Kim, come on down.
Since the PGA Tour started keeping records in 1983, no player had ever scored a 13 on a par-3 outside of the majors. Until now.
The Korean was already having a largely unforgettable week at the WGC-FedEx St Jude Invitational when he arrived at the 155-yard 11th hole with its island green on the final day in Memphis.
Kim’s tee shot found the water, as did his 96-yard second from the drop zone. As did his third, fourth, and fifth.
His sixth attempt to find the green – and 11th shot – skipped past the flag and into the longer stuff at the back of the green. Kim chipped on and drained the putt for his 13.

Kim made one of those 10 dropped shots back at the very next hole, and actually managed to play the rest of the back-nine in 2-under par.
But a final-round 78 wasn’t enough to prevent Kim from finishing dead last in the no-cut event. Still, $35,000 in prize money will help soothe the pain.
Kim, understandably, was not to keen to speak to the waiting media after coming off the 18th green. Think it’s fair to let that one slide…
