The hilarious stat that LIV Golf will NOT want you to see
Four teams, seven holes, one outrageous tournament – all it’s missing is a bucket load of prize money…
Nickelodeon’s ‘Slime Cup’ has now starting airing. If you’re wondering what that is, it’s a kid’s TV show where tour players and celebrities compete in a series of golf games, all for the excitement of the next generation.
The likes of Collin Morikawa, Jon Rahm, Justin Thomas and Lexi Thompson were all involved, with each major champ taking on the show’s ‘Nick-ified’ golf course to drive buggies filled with pandas, fire slingshots, get slimed, and dress up as turtles for everyone’s entertainment.
No seriously, we’re not kidding…
All good fun. But with some of the world’s best taking part, suddenly it got the golf world thinking – and the results are as hilarious as you might think…
Yes, you’re reading that correctly. Thanks to Twitter’s Official World Golf Ranking expert @VC606 and CBS’s Kyle Porter, the strength of field for a children’s television show was worryingly – for Greg Norman and co at least – close to LIV Golf’s second event in Portland this week.
Turns out a third party has just been added to this ongoing war between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf. Social media was loving it too…
Joking aside, Nickelodeon seem to be doing a great job of promoting golf and trying to grow the game through the amusing new show. Which stars are next to defect for some slimy fun, we’ll have to wait and see.
