‘I’m not high-fiving that!’ Watch PGA Tour star’s ’embarrassing’ hole-in-one
“Dude, that better not go in,” said Wyndham Clark as playing partner Mark Hubbard flubbed his tee shot at the par-3 11th at Detroit Golf Club.
Hubbard hated the shot so much at the 216-yarder he dropped his club. His ball took one, two, three bounces, rolled calmly towards the hole and did a full one-eighty of the cup before gravity took over.
“No, I’m not high-fiving you,” Clark joked.
“That’s embarrassing,” Hubbard added.
Of the hilarious incident, which took place during the opening round of the 2022 Rocket Mortgage Classic, Hubbard said: “Honestly, it was pretty embarrassing.
“I let go of the club on about three of the last four shots as well and they all ended up OK. I just felt really stuck and I thought it was going to be way right of the green.
“I looked up and it was a perfect one-yard draw. It landed and trickled in like a putt.
“I think that’s probably going to end up being one of my favourite hole-in-ones I ever had just because of the situation.”
Hubbard confirmed it was his ninth ace, with his eighth coming after he had, quote, “dropped about 100 beers” at Baker’s Bay in the Bahamas.
Never change, Hubbs.
