Peralada Overview | NCG Top 100s: European Golf Resorts

18 Incredible Holes

Golf Club Peralada is blessed with its location. Nestled between the Costa Brava and the Pyrenees Mountains, Peralada blends into the natural surroundings, and it is a stern test of even the very best golfers.

Several of the holes at Golf Club Peralada have water in play, with the first sighting of that coming on the tee shot at the 5th hole. The Par-71 lay-out features four tees on each hole to provide different lengths to suit golfers. At its longest, the course plays at more than 6,600 yards long.

8 and 9 is really where the water starts getting into your eyeline, though. The 9th is a short par-3, protected by a lake to both the back and the right of the green. There is also a bunker short of the green, making club selection absolutely vital.

The course finishes with a stunning par-3. The 18th measures at more than 230 yards from the back tees, while both the red, blue and yellow tees are actually on islands in the lake itself. A par to finish and you’ll certainly be a happy golfer.

Peralada Golf School

Golf Club Peralada is also the home to the Peralada Golf School. There is a full-size two-level driving range, with the bottom half of the range being covered. Three putting greens as well as an approach green and practice bunker for short game skills are also a part of the club, to allow golfers to hone their short game abilities.

Not only that, but Golf Club Peralada also plays host to a 9-hole Pitch & Putt course, with holes ranging from 50 to 120 yards. Relatively flat, with no water hazards and a few bunkers dotted around the greens, the Pitch & Putt is the perfect place for golfers to practise their approach shots, and for beginners to start to learn the game and the nuances of short approaches, chipping and putting.

The Golf School is the home to professionals Paul Brown and Txomin Hospital, who both featured on the DP World Tour and European Challenge Tour during their careers. The pair are on hand to provide tuition, from short game lessons, to breaking down the fundamentals of the game for beginners. There are also kids classes to help children get into the beautiful game.
