It says it in the name - Dreamland. That is what the resort has aspired to be, and as the leading resort in Azerbaijan, it is certainly living up to its name. From incredible accommodation and real estate opportunities, to the immaculate Dye-designed 18-hole championship golf course and the state of the art Golf Academy, Dreamland has a little bit of everything for a golfing holiday.

Starting with the golf, it doesn’t get much better than the incredible 18-hole golf course, laid out in the Azerbaijani landscape by the Dye Design Company. It measures 6,800 yards from the back tees, providing a lengthy test. Water guards 15 of the 18 holes as well, while trees have been planted along much of the course and are starting to grow and become a problem for golfers who are slightly errant with their tee shots. 

The Dreamland Golf Academy is a state of the art facility, with something for everyone when it comes to learning more about the game. There are 22 covered bays on the driving range, where players can hit to a number of target flags. A row of grass tees sit in front of the range, and are used during the summer season. There is also a stunning short game area, with several greens for approaches, pitches and chipping, bunkers and a putting green as well.

The Dreamland Golf Hotel offers a stunning selection of rooms and suites for those looking for a holiday at the resort. Even the Standard Rooms are luxurious, and designed with a contemporary touch in mind. Superior Rooms and both the Junior and King Suites are equipped with private balconies and terraces to look out onto the golf course from. 

For those looking for something more long-term just outside the Azerbaijani capital, then look no further. The Dreamland Golf Resort is also the home to some incredible real estate options. The stunning villas range from five- to seven-bedrooms, while there are also one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments for sale as well. Dreamland really does offer a little bit of everything for golfers and couples alike, with the aim of increasing the popularity of golf in the country.

Dreamland Golf Club is the first of its kind in Azerbaijan, with the 18-hole course being designed by the great Dye Design Company. It is a stern test of golf for players of all abilities, measuring at more than 6,800 yards.

The Par 72 lay-out is wide and open, so golfers should not need worry about losing their ball amongst trees. Instead, there are plenty of waste areas, sand traps and water hazards that players will need to think about.

Water is in view and in reach on 15 of the 18 holes around this Dye design, with all four par-3s on the lay-out having to be played either across, or next to water hazards. The closing 18th hole finds its way back to the clubhouse, where those who have already finished their rounds will be watching from the terrace of the clubhouse.

The Dreamland Golf Academy literally is a dreamland… Sorry, it had to be said at some point! But it really is! The facilities at the Dreamland Golf Academy are second-to-none.

The driving range has 22 fully-covered bays across two floors, to allow golfers to practise whatever the weather or season. There is also a row of grass tees in front of the building, which are in use during the summer season, and it is the same grass that golfers will be playing from out on the course.

As well as the driving range, the Dreamland Golf Academy also has an amazing short game area, with a splash zone to allow players to hone their bunker play. With a range of flags on the approach green, for chipping to, and a separate putting green, the facilities are state of the art at Dreamland.

In terms of coaching and tuition, there is a team of professionals on site at the Dreamland Golf Academy to help golfers of all ages and abilities to improve their games. From individual lessons to group clinics, there is the opportunity to learn for all golfers.

As the Golf Academy is managed by IMG, there are two performance-focussed studios, which provide comprehensive instruction. Each studio has a distinct learning centre, be it the Vl studio with FlightScope launch monitor and fitness equipment, or the SAM PuttLab and custom fitting centre. 

There is plenty of accommodation on offer at Dreamland, with the Dreamland Golf Hotel offering a range of 42 rooms. Each of these are contemporarily designed, and all overlook the stunning Dye-designed golf course. The selection of rooms boast free Wi-Fi, an office station, satellite TV, in-room fridge, valuables safe, a private bathroom with hairdryer and free toiletries. 

The Standard Rooms at the Dreamland Golf Hotel still offer contemporary luxury, while the Superior Rooms are the lowest level of accommodation to also come with their own private terrace or balcony overlooking the course. There are also Junior Suites and King Suites for the most luxurious of stays. 

Not only is there the Golf Hotel as Dreamland, but there is also the opportunity to purchase real estate on the resort, in the form of villas and apartments. It is regarded as one of Baku’s most upmarket residences. The villas range up to seven-bedrooms, while there is also a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, all overlooking the golf course.

Dreamland is easily the most eastern resort on the NCG Top 100 European Golf Resorts list, and it is situated in the eastern corner of Azerbaijan. Dreamland sits just 15 miles from the city centre of Baku, where Formula 1 fans can enjoy driving the streets that their heroes race each year.

What is the nearest airport to Dreamland? 
Dreamland is based just off the Zigh-Airport Highway. That means it is on the same road as Heydar Aliyev International Airport in Baku, and it is just seven miles to the south of the country’s biggest airport. The airport operates flights to around 40 destinations each week, but for British travellers, at least one stop will be required to get to Baku and back.

What golf facilities does Dreamland offer? 
There is a state of the art driving range facility to allow golfers to train and practise ahead of their round out on the championship course. There are target greens, and all 22 bays in the building are covered. There is also a row of grass tees in front of the building, which are in use throughout the summer season. The short game area, including chipping and putting, is also available for golfers to hone their skills. 

Away from the course, Dreamland also has a gorgeous clubhouse. Golfers can dine, drink and unwind after a round in a setting that has a bar and separate restaurant. The expansive terrace overlooks the 18th hole, while the pro-shop is fully-stocked with leading clothing and equipment brands.

Does Dreamland offer golf lessons? 
A comprehensive range of lessons is available at the Dreamland Golf Academy. The team of qualified professionals offer world-class teaching that is fully focused on improving technique and efficiency. Lesson packages include individual, group and junior lessons, as well as TPI-specific and technology-focused lessons.

What are the green fees at Dreamland? 
Green fees for the Pete Dye Championship Course at Dreamland remain the same throughout the year due to the climate being ready for golf at all times. An 18-hole round will cost 180 AZN (€100/£85).

What accommodation is on offer at Dreamland? 
There is a glorious range of accommodation available for guests to stay in at Dreamland. The Dreamland Golf Hotel offers luxury in many ways, with rooms ranging from Standard Rooms all the way up to King Suites.

The resort also offers the opportunity to purchase real estate, with an amazing selection of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, as well as villas ranging up to seven-bedrooms, on offer.

What other resorts and courses are nearby? 
Perhaps unsurprisingly, there are no other resorts on the NCG Top 100 European Golf Resorts list anywhere near Dreamland. The closest would be Lykia Links in Turkey, but even that is more than 1,700 miles to the south west from Dreamland.

The closest golf course in the country seems to be the National Azerbaijan Golf Club. However, that is still a three-hour drive from Dreamland.
