Wilson isn’t always the first name that comes to mind when discussing premium golf balls, but the 2025 Wilson Triad will no doubt put an end to that sentiment. Designed as a well-rounded option for a range of club golfers, the Triad combines value, spin control, and a urethane cover without costing an arm and a leg.

NCG SUMMARY

The Wilson Triad 2025 is an excellent all-around golf ball that delivers strong spin, good distance, and reliable performance — especially for mid-handicap golfers. Its forgiveness, quality construction, and affordability make it a great option.

I was particularly impressed with its performance around the greens with a wedge in hand. The feel was really good from the urethane cover and there was plenty of spin for optimal control on the putting surface.

Wilson 2025 Triad Golf Ball Review: First Impressions

This is very much a golf ball constructed to be as practical as possible. The Wilson Triad can help to improve various parts of your golf game to help lowering your scores. It still has that desirable soft yet responsive feel around the greens that more premium priced options often deliver.

NCG Verdict

One of the standout aspects of the Wilson Triad is its urethane cover, which provides excellent feel around the greens. The short-game performance was a key strength, with spin rates hitting 7,300 RPM on my wedge shots – which competes with some tour-level golf balls. I also found the ball delivers a confidence-inspiring control, making it an excellent choice for golfers who rely on precision around the greens.

Wilson 2025 Triad Golf Ball Review

Through the bag, the Triad offers consistent launch and carry distances. When using a 7-iron, I was able to produce an average ball speed of 115.5 mph and a carry distance of 162 yards. This again stacks up well against more expensive tour balls.

While I found the spin rates to be slightly on the lower side at 5,700 RPM, they remained within a reasonable range for most club golfers. Performance wise, this meant I was able to command a decent stopping power on approach shots, though higher spin players might seek a bit more control.

When testing this ball out with a driver the performance of the Wilson Triad trailed off a touch. The slightly lower compression means that ball speed I was able to manufacture maxed out around 158 mph, which is slightly below tour-level expectations.

While this may not be an issue for mid-to-high handicappers, stronger players with fast swing speeds might find themselves leaving a few yards on the table compared to firmer, high-compression balls.

That said, Wilson claims that shifting the weight distribution toward the outer layers enhances MOI (Moment of Inertia), leading to more stable flight and better accuracy off the tee. While this may not provide a massive distance boost, it will definitely be hugely beneficial for players struggling with consistency off the tee.

Final Verdict

Retailing at £39.99 RRP, the Wilson Triad is a fantastic value ball. It offers premium performance at a fraction of the price of tour balls, making it an excellent choice for golfers who want tour-like spin and feel without the premium price tag.

For mid-handicap players in the 5–25 range, the Triad is a well-rounded, confidence-inspiring ball.
