Arccos Caddie now permitted for use under the Rules of Golf
This is fantastic news. Pardon? What is Arccos Caddie? Where have you been?
Arccos Caddie is an upgrade option on the Arccos 360 game-tracking system which automatically tracks your shots and provides detailed statistics from your round.
Arccos sensors are built in to the grips of Cobra’s F8 clubs for 2018. You can read our review of the Arccos 360 here.
The Arccos Caddie feature takes information from your own performance and the performance of other golfers around the world to make a suggestion on club selection.
So if you have 150 yards to a pin, you might automatically reach for the 7-iron. But Arccos Caddie will know that from your previous rounds that you’ll be short so will advise a 6-iron.
And now in a USGA ruling Arccos Caddie has been cleared for use in tournament play where rangefinders are allowed.
The app must be toggled to “Tournament Mode,” which turns off the live display of elevation.
Why is this such good news? Because it shows golf is moving with the times and actually embracing mobile technology, accepting that smartphones have a part to play in helping us enjoy golf even more.

New PXG Mini Gunboat putter launched
PXG have taken time out from their legal disputes with TaylorMade to launch a new premium putter.
We’re already familiar with the Gunboat model – as used by PGA Tour winner Pat Perez – but now there’s a mini version.
PXG say the Mini Gunboat combines the forgiveness and visual alignment aids of the original putter with the versatility of a smaller profile.
The Mini Gunboat is available in two head weights and two shaft options.

Francesco Molinari signs with Bettinardi
Francesco Molinari has been one of the best players in the world from tee-to-green over the past decade.
With a red hot putter he could well have doubled his tournament win tally and maybe even have made it into the major winner’s circle.
The former Nike player, who now uses TaylorMade clubs, has signed a deal with Bettinardi in a bid to have more success on the greens.
Molinari will play the BB56 model and hopes it will boost his chances of playing in a third Ryder Cup at Le Golf National next year.
“I’m delighted to have signed with Bettinardi and using what I believe to be the best performing and finest looking putters on Tour,” he said.
“I’ve tested different Bettinardi models in my quest to win on tour in 2018 and make the Ryder Cup team again, and the BB56 sits perfectly for me. I love the technology involved and how passionate the brand is on creating quality putters,” he added.
