Which golf shoes have performed best on the course in 2018?
1. Best golf shoes 2018: FootJoy Tour-S
If I was going to play in a big club competition and wanted to shoot my best possible score – I chose to wear the FootJoy Tour-S.
It could be a coincidence but I always seem to play better when I wear these.
Also when it comes to launch monitor testing, I seem to get my best numbers when wearing them – particularly with driver.
I don’t think they look as good as some of the other shoes in this list but they don’t look bad.
They are easily as comfortable as any other shoe featured here – much more comfortable than the spikeless Pro SL in my opinion.
The Tour-S have a lovely soft leather which seems to get even softer over time after.
Ultimately I have to make a decision based on performance. Stability is so important for me and these give me that solid stable base to make good swing and get more power from.
You may not need the same levels of stability as I do so this may be a bit too much of a hefty investment.
The price is a bit eye-watering but can you buy a brand new, top of the range driver for £230? No, you can’t.
If you want a piece of kit that’s going to help you out for the entire four hours you are out on the golf course, rather than 10-14 shots. I think shoes are an area where that extra investment could prove worthwhile.
