Equipment: New Gore-Tex rain suit from Under Armour
This is not just another Gore-Tex suit – this is a the next generation of Gore-Tex suits according to Under Armour.
It comes as little surprise to see the rapidly-growing brand making a serious move in the waterproof market and they’ve definitely pulled out all of the stops with this three-layer, fully stretch rain suit.
Under Armour have gone with the trusted waterproof technology of Gore-Tex to make what they say is the most advanced rain suit in golf.
The three-layer bonded fabric delivers a durable, smooth outside and a soft, brushed interior. This ensures the suit is waterproof but incredibly breathable.
With 10 per cent stretch fabrication applied across the whole suit, Under Armour say this gives 25 per cent more stretch than other Gore-Tex rainwear for golf.
On testing the suit, Under Armour ambassador and world number one golfer, Jordan Spieth, said: Under Armour are constantly pushing the boundaries in what’s achievable in golf apparel to help make athletes better.
“The new Gore-Tex range is the most advanced waterproofing technology I’ve ever seen in golf and is sure to give me an edge over the competition.
The UA Gore-Tex Jacket is available with an SRP of £250 and also comes in a half-zip version (SRP £230) in three colour options, the UA Gore-Tex Tips Pant is available for SRP £215.
