Titleist Vokey SM7 wedges spotted during tour seeding
The Vokey SM7 wedges probably wont be available to buy until the Spring but tour players were give the chance to test them at the Shriners Hospitals Open for Children.
We kept a close eye on the Vokey and Titleist social media channels to get a sneak peak at the wedges which will be replacing the SM6.
Vokey SM7 wedges: What do we know?

Titleist have a two-year cycle on all their products and we received our testing samples of the SM6 in January 2016.
So we’d expect the same this time around with the SM7 being on sale in February or March.
Vokey SM7 wedges: What happens during tour seeding?
The tour seeding process – which we went behind the scenes with FootJoy to observe – is a key stage before any product goes to market.
It gives the brands a chance for the product to receive ‘tour validation’ – there is probably still time for any subtle tweaks to be made.
The Vokey team will make up sets of SM7 wedges with the lofts, bounce and grinds that the players are currently using and then do any polishing or further grinding at the players’ request.
They may also want to try out some new grind options.
Vokey SM7 wedges: Who will be using them?
Tour seeding also gives players time to get used to the product, so when it becomes widespread on tour members of the public will be able to get themselves booked in for a fitting.
And it creates a buzz around the new product – expect the likes of Jordan Spieth, Justin Thomas, Ian Poulter and many more to be raving about SM7 on social media over the next few months.
Vokey SM7 wedges: What’s the new technology?
We could speculate on some of the new technologies in the Vokey SM7 but we don’t want to jump the gun.
Titleisit like to keep this information under wraps until the product is officially launched.
But what I will say is that the look and finish is very clean and classical which will surely keep Vokey enthusiasts very happy.
Stay tuned for more details as and when we get them…
