Shane Lowry broke his major duck at the Open – but what clubs was he using? Equipment editor Hannah Holden takes a look
Open champion Shane Lowry is a Cleveland-Srixon staff player so it contracted to use their ball, irons and wedges but also had a Srixon driver in the bag this week.
Let’s take a look in the Irishman’s bag…
What’s in Lowry’s bag?
Lowry has swapped his driver since his win in Abu Dhabi earlier in the year. His Callaway Epic Flash Sub Zero has been swapped out for the Srixon Z 585 driver.
He then carries the TaylorMade M4 fairway wood with 15 degrees of loft. It’s no surprise to see Lowry opt for the TaylorMade M4 3-wood which came out on top in our 2018 fairway woods test.
Lowry opts for a combo set of irons with the Srixon Z 585 in his four and five iron before opting for the Srixon Z 785 from 6 iron down to pitching wedge. He also carries a Srixon Z U85 2 and 3-iron.
He chooses to carry just two wedges, they are the Cleveland RTX 4 in 50 and 58 degrees.
Lowry carries the Odyssey Stroke Lab Exo 2-Ball putter which he has had in the bag throughout the 2019 season.
He also plays the Srixon Z Star XV golf ball.
