Sebastian Munoz got the better of Sungjae Im in a dramatic play-off for his maiden PGA Tour victory.

The Columbian needed a birdie at the 72nd hole – the hardest on the course – to force a play-off after Im had posted a score of 18-under.

Munoz was up to the task. A fairway splitting tee shot, followed by a solid approach, left him with a 15-footer for the play-off and he rolled it into the centre of the cup.

It might even have been good enough for the win, were it not for a sloppy bogey at the simple par-4 15th. But in the end he got the job done through the play-off.

He struggled a little more second time round on 18 in the play-off as both men missed the fairway. Munoz found the right rough and Im the left.

Much like the tee shots, though, the approaches were also polar opposites.

The 2019 Rookie of the Year flew the green and nestled his ball up against the grandstand while Munoz left his short of the putting surface.

It was clear the eventual champion was keen to get on with his third and, when he did play, he left just four and a half feet for par.

Im spent some time establishing relief from the structure and his drop sat down in the grass. But he still left himself six feet for a four that would send the pair back to the tee.

It was not to be as his putt came straight left off the face of the putter and didn’t even scare the hole, leaving Munoz with a simple, but pressurised putt.

Inspired by Joaquin Niemann’s maiden victory at The Greenbrier, he grasped the moment and holed the putt.

With the victory he is exempt through the 2021-22 season and will receive invites to events such as the Masters and the Players.

Elsewhere, Byeong Hun An took solo third after finishing just one behind on 17-under-par. He shot his third round of the week in the 60s on Sunday.

Im had one of the lowest scores of the day with a 6-under 66, but Kevin Streelman and Bronson Burgoon went even lower.

Streelman catapulted himself into a share for 4th with a round of 8-under-par while Burgoon took a share of 6th thanks to a 7-under 65.

Think Rory McIlroy, Brooks Koepka, Dustin Johnson – all these guys are among the biggest hitters, but what about Tom Lehman? Yes, that Tom Lehman.

It seems we are talking about Phil Mickelson and social media week after week and here we are again.

The first interesting thing that caught our eye on Twitter was Phil’s reply to NFL report Ian Rapoport’s tweet.

The NFL Network man tweeted out about a minor calf injury that New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady had sustained.

We know Phil is very proud of his defined calves and replied to the tweet suggesting that he was on standby to help Brady out.

But the calf related interaction with the world class athletes didn’t stop there.

Later in the week, he was tweeted a video by Golden State Warriors star Steph Curry.

The video featured the NBA player doing some calf workouts and he reached out to Phil just to check he was doing them correctly.

Mickelson replied informing him he needed to show him in person and we’re sure its not a coincidence that they are playing together in the Safeway Open pro-am.
