R&A announces revised dates and venues for 2021 Amateur Championships
The Men’s Home Internationals and Girls’ U16 Amateur Championship have been postponed because on the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the R&A have confirmed.
Royal Dornoch was meant to have staged one of the crowning events in the amateur season in April, but the tournament will now be played from September 15 to 17 at a venue yet to be confirmed.
The Girls’ U16s has now been moved to October 21 to 23 and will still be staged at Enville.
Phil Anderton, the R&A’s chief development officer, said: “There is still a degree of uncertainty as to when the current health and safety measures throughout Great Britain and Ireland will be eased and so we have decided to reschedule both events until later this year when hopefully the situation with the pandemic has improved.”
