These are the venues that will stage the R&A’s big championships and international matches in 2021

Nairn will host the Amateur Championship for the second time in 2021 after the R&A announced the venues for their championships and international matches.

The layout, in the north of Scotland, last held Great Britain and Ireland’s premier tournament in 1994 when Lee James beat Gordon Sherry 2&1 in the 36 hole final.

The qualifying rounds for the event, which features a field of 288 world ranked players and gives the winner entry into the Open, US Open and Masters, will be played at Nairn Dunbar.

Norfolk’s Hunstanton will stage the Women’s Amateur Championship for the sixth time. It last visited in 1972 when Mickey Walker defended her crown.

A field of 144 will compete and the victor will earn a place in the AIG Women’s British Open, US Women’s Open, Evian Championship and Augusta National Women’s Amateur Championship.

Elsewhere, Royal Cinque Ports, Deal and Prince’s will host the Boys’ Amateur Championship for the first time, while the Girls’ Amateur Championship will be staged at Fulford, in York.

The Girls’ Under-16 Amateur, which has been played at Fulford for the last couple of years, will be staged at Enville, in the West Midlands.

The Men’s Home Internationals will go to Hankley Common, in Surrey, with the Boys’ Home Internationals played at Trentham, in Staffordshire.

Ganton will continue their tradition of putting on big championships by showcasing the Women and Girls’ Home Internationals with the Women’s Senior Amateur field taking on the links at Castlerock, in Northern Ireland.
