The purse at the PGA Tour's flagship event, won by Scottie Scheffler in 2023, has increased significantly in recent years

Scottie Scheffler romped to a five-shot victory in the final round in Florida, carding a solid 69 to secure his sixth PGA Tour title.

He joined Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as the only players to hold the Players Championship and the Masters titles at the same time.

43 of the world’s top 50 golfers are looking to finish at the top of the Players Championship leaderboard, an event known as “golf’s fifth major.”
