Phil Mickelson is currently taking a break from the game, and his equipment manufacturers are assessing their options

Phil Mickelson and long-term equipment providers Callaway have “pause” their partnership.

Mickelson has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons in recent weeks, largely for his involvement in the Saudi Golf League, and a statement from the California-based brand said: “Callaway does not condone Phil Mickelson’s comments and we were very disappointed in his choice of words – they in no way reflect our values or what we stand for as a company.

“Phil has since apologised and we know he regrets how he handled recent events. We recognise his desire to take some time away from the game and respect that decision. At this time, we have agreed to pause our partnership and will re-evaluate our ongoing relationship at a later date.”

KPMG, Workday, and Amstel – Mickelson’s other long-term sponsors – have severed ties with the player completely.
