WITB: Paul Waring – Nordea Masters
Paul Waring WITB. This win had been a long time coming for the Wilson Staff player who has a fairly mixed bag of clubs.
The Englishman has a contract with Wilson to play their irons and wedges so it’s always interesting to see which other clubs being used.
We’d seen Waring testing out a number of drivers and fairway woods at the BMW PGA Championship.
But he’s been using the 2017 TaylorMade M2 driver in 2018 – one of the best-performing models from the past couple of years.
His fairway wood is the Titleist 917 which has an adjustable weight in the sole to fine-tune the ball flight.
Then as we get into the irons, we can see Waring has three different Wilson Staff models on the go.
He opts for the C300 Forged for his 3-iron then has a mixture of the FG Tour V4 and V6 models in his bag.
Paul Waring broke through this weekend in Sweden to claim his first career European Tour victory.
Here are the clubs he used to bring the trophy home:
• C300 Forged (3)
• V4 (4-8, PW)
• V6 (9)
• PMP (48°) #NordeaMasters #WilsonStaff #WITB pic.twitter.com/FNSt9Mi2Jl— Wilson Golf UK (@WilsonGolfUK) August 20, 2018
For his wedges, Waring has the one Wilson FG Tour PMP model before a couple of Vokey SM7s.
His putter is an interesting one. Not many people will have heard of Kramski – a premium German brand created by Wiestaw Kramski.
A mallet model like the one Waring uses will set you back about £800.
Waring uses the Titleist Pro V1x golf ball and wears FootJoy Tour-S shoes.
