Justin Rose edged out Haotong Li in Turkey to return to World No. 1. Equipment editor James Savage takes us through his bag
Justin Rose WITB. The Englishman has had some weekend to cap off a remarkable year.
It comes just weeks after he won the $10 million FedEx Cup jackpot on the PGA Tour.
Rose has made a couple of tweaks at both ends of his bag in recent weeks.
He has brought in a 5-wood in favour of a long iron and slight changed his wedge set-up.
He just uses the one P790 long iron before the Rose Proto P730.
We first saw the Rose Proto irons last year which are a slightly modified version of the new P730. The Rose Proto were created with input from the player himself.
Rory McIlroy has his Rors Proto and Johnson the DJ Proto but it’s Johnson’s irons which are the closest to the models available to members of the public.
Rose uses the bladed Rose Proto from 5-9 with a P790 4-iron for a bit more power and forgiveness.
There was a bit of a merry-go-round with Rose’s putter last year as he’s used a few from the new TaylorMade TP Red Collection.
But he has settled on the Ardmore 2 with a Flat Cat grip which has been a constant during his rise to the top of the world rankings.
