What’s new in Spieth’s bag at the Open?
This is Jordan Spieth’s WITB rundown for 2019. Click here if you are after his 2020 club setup.
Jordan Spieth WITB. It’s been a while since Jordan Spieth won on tour with his last victory coming at the 2017 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. This has had a telling impact on his odds to win a future major, according to Gambling Deals.
Ahead of The Open at Royal Portrush Spieth has made a big equipment change swapping out his trusty AP2 irons for the new Titleist T100’s.
What’s in Jordan Spieth’s bag?
Spieth flirted with the new Titleist TS2 driver at the 2018 Shriners Hospital for Children Open. He has now put the Titleist TS3 driver in play for 2019. However he has opted for the TS2 model in his 3-wood.
Spieth has always been a AP2 man, in fact it is the only iron he has ever used on tour – until this week. He has made the switch to the new Titleist T100 irons.
The way these turned out is amazing. I remember a couple of years ago when we were talking about my AP2’s and the Titleist team asked what I’d like to see improved. I told them I preferred the sole being a little bit different and the least amount of offset and top-line as possible. When I set the new T100’s down for the first time I could already tell the difference compared to my gamer AP2 irons. They made the exact improvements I was looking for in an iron. They look really, really good. They slide through the turf nicely, and my mishits are straighter and further than on my AP2 irons.
He carries four Titleist SM7 wedges – 46˚, 52˚, 56˚, 60˚– and according to Aaron Dill, the Vokey fitter on the PGA Tour, his bounce and grind options have never changed.
Spieth still uses his rusty Titleist Scotty Cameron Circle T 009, the same putter that has been ever presented in all of his victories on the PGA Tour.
