Ten years since his US Open win – how has McDowell’s equipment changed?
Ten years on from his first and only major title to date, Graeme McDowell is once again a winner on tour. So what changes has he made to his equipment since the 2010 US Open? In this day of constant changes to equipment set-ups, it might surprise you to hear he still has one club in the bag from that maiden win.
Back in 2010 McDowell was a Callaway player but just a year later he made the switch and signed to Cleveland/Srixon. Let’s take a look inside his bag…
What’s in McDowell’s bag?
His current driver is the Srixon Z785, previously McDowell had a Callaway Big Bertha Fusion driver in play but in both clubs he has opted for 9.5 degrees of loft.
Graeme has recently swapped to a Callaway Mavrik fairway wood paired with a Srizon Z F45 5-wood with an exceptional amount of lead tape on the bottom… Back in 2010 he opted to carry a 3-wood and two hybrids instead of a 5-wood.

McDowell currently has the Srixon Z 745 irons in play from 4- to 9-iron. He uses the same Project X 6.5 shafts which he had in his Callaway X Forged irons back in 2010.
He pairs these with Cleveland RTX 2.0 Custom 46° & 52° wedges and a Cleveland 588 RTX 58° wedge. He carries the same lofts in his wedges that he favoured in 2010.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Graeme McDowell relies on his trusty Odyssey White Hot #7 putter that he used in his only major championship title to date, the US Open at Pebble Beach in 2010. He also plays the Srixon Z Star XV golf ball.
