Golf tech: SkyCaddie release SkyTrak personal launch monitor

The world's first personal launch monitor and golf simulator
 

SkyCaddie have announced the UK roll-out of their SkyTrak personal golf launch monitor and golf simulator, priced at £1695 will begin in November 2015.

The SkyTrak launch monitor, which is produced in a joint venture between SkyCaddie’s parent company SkyGolf and digital sports technology SportTrak.

Offering both the accuracy of professional-grade launch monitors aimed at the golf equipment fitting market, and the more personal golf simulator software.

The unit uses photometric technology to measure ball speed, launch angle, back spin, side spin and side angle immediately after impact to give players and fitters all the information required when using the device.

SkyTrak also offers carry distance, offline distance and total distance to simulate practice and play much like on course or practice ground/range.

With a variety of modes – the launch monitor offers the ability to practice or compete with friends whilst hitting into a net or on the range/practice ground.

Users can access an increased range of features with the optional purchase of a SkyTrak Premium subscription – at an annual rate of £79.

This purchase unlocks all of the launch monitor capabilities – such as extensive data tables enabling deeper analysis of your game.

Premium members will also receive access to a wider range of mini games which can be played on a range of updated ‘real world’ courses – such as the 9-shot closest to the hole challenge – played of 9 different holes of the Kiawah Island Ocean course.

In addition to this, SkyTrak adds access to partner World Golf Tour – with players able to compete via the WGT game to some of the most photo-realistic representations of 20 of the world’s top golf courses – such as St. Andrews, Pebble Beach, Celtic Manor and Chambers Bay.

SkyTrak ships with the basic version of the SkyTrak App, which displays a Driving Range and basic Shot Data on your iPad. A list of compatible iOS products is displayed on www.skytrakgolf.com.


A PC version of the SkyTrak App will be available in autumn 2015.
