A first European Tour win for the brand new Mizuno JPX919 irons. Equipment editor James Savage takes a look at all the clubs Pepperell used for his British Masters win
Eddie Pepperell WITB. The Englishman made it another win for the brand new Mizuno JPX919 irons after putting them in the bag a couple of weeks ago.
Like double US Open champion Brooks Koepka, Pepperell had played the JPX900 Tour.
But he claimed to be getting better flight, spin and feel with the brand new model which also won on the PGA Tour last week in the hands of Kevin Tway.

Pepperell has a contract to play Mizuno irons and wedges so gets to choose the clubs at the top and bottom end of his bag.
His driver of choice is the Ping G400 which we have seen the likes of Russell Knox and Partick Reed also choose for victories this year.
That just leaves room for a Callaway Epic Sub Zero model which he put to very good at times around Walton Heath.
It was a tough final round for Pepperell who went into Sunday with a three-shot lead.
The margin was cut to one as Alexander Bjork applied the pressure but a nerveless birdie at the last ensured a two-shot victory on nine under.
It’s Pepperell’s second victory of 2018 and should see him climb from 50th to about 35th in the Official World Golf Ranking.
So we can expect to see him lining up at Augusta for his first Masters appearance in 2019.
