WITB: Eddie Pepperell - Qatar MastersFebruary 25, 2018 Golf Equipment
It has taken him a while but Eddie Pepperell has found the winning combination with his golf equipment. James Savage takes a look at the clubs which landed the Englishman his maiden victory.
We’ve seen some fairly significant equipment changes from Eddie Pepperell over the past 12 months but it’s fair to say he’s finally found the winning combination.
We reported recently how he’d switched to the Titleist 917 D2 driver after a fitting with ‘the lanky oracle’ Liam McDougall – Titleist’s European Tour fitter.
Pepperell had been struggling with a low left miss off the tee but after using a driver to create a bit more backspin – and putting the higher-spinning Titleist Pro V1 ball – into play, he began finding fairways again.
The amount of messages I’m receiving is overwhelming. Seriously, thank you. I love this game.

It’s the same model as free agent Brooks Kopeka used to win the US Open with last year and the irons other non-contracted players such as Paul Casey and Ross Fisher favour.
Pepperell uses the JPX900 from 3-9 and also has an MMC Fli-Hi 2-iron in his bag.
That just leaves room for a Callaway XR 3-wood which he put to very good use in the desert this week.
