Danny Willett WITB. What gear does the Callaway staffer have in his bag?
We caught up with the 2016 Masters champion ahead of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship to see which new models he was putting into play.
And he’s made very few changes throughout 2018.
Willett plumped for the Callaway Rogue driver which he says has given him a bit of extra spin so has been able to knock the loft down to 9˚.
He had previously used the GBB Epic driver.
He says he will switch between the Callaway Rogue 3 and 5 wood depending on the tournament and conditions.
Similarly with the Callaway X Forged UT 3 and 4 iron – he may decide to put the 3 iron instead of the 5 wood or vice versa.
With the rest of the irons he uses the 2018 Callaway X Forged which have been customised with a green finish on the logo.
We can’t think of any reason why he might favour the colour green?
His putter is an Odyssey prototype which we expect to learn more about in the coming weeks.
Below are the clubs which Willett used to seal his first win since the 2016 Masters.
He opted for three utility irons and just one fairway wood as finished two shots clear of Patrick Reed and Matt Wallace at the DP World Tour Championship.
It was very much a winning week for Callaway who lead the count for driver, fairway, hybrid, utility iron and iron models in Dubai.
Odyssey was the number one putter brand with 42 per cent of the field using one of their models.
