Callaway Mack Daddy Forged wedges unveiled
The Callaway Mack Daddy Forged wedges promise more control from progressive CG locations and increased spin thanks to a new groove configuration.
Oh and they look a million dollars thanks to stylish new design and finish.
Wedge guru Roger Cleveland has been working closely with tour pros to create the Callaway Mack Daddy Forged Wedges but they shouldn’t intimidate higher handicap golfers.
There’s a new shape with less offset, a squarer toe and a straighter leading edge.
The centre of gravity (CG) moves upwards as the loft increases to align it more with impact locations and Callaway say this offers a more controllable ball flight without reducing spin.
We’ve recently seen new wedges from Titleist and Cleveland which feature strategically placed CG locations for improved consistency and control.
That spin is helped by a new 16-groove configuration with an added groove at the bottom, near to the leading edge.
The groove patterns are also progressive to increase spin as loft increases, allowing players to attack the pin on pitches and chips.
Callaway Mack Daddy Forged Wedges are available in a new R-sole grind with mid-bounce for added versatility.
The wedges will suit players who like to square the face and fire it towards the flag and those who want to open the face for higher-flighted flop shots.
The True Temper Dynamic Golf Tour Issue S200 Blue Label shaft is the stock offering with the Callaway Mack Daddy Forged wedges – the most popular wedge shaft on the PGA Tour.
There’s also a matching blue Lamkin UTx grip as standard.
