BMW Championship preview
We’re down to the final 70 players as we head into the penultimate event of the FedEx Cup Play-offs, with the top 30 at the end of this week advancing to the Tour Championship in a fortnight’s time.
This time, the BMW Championship moves to Aronimink Golf Club in Philadelphia – a venue that last hosted a PGA Tour event in 2011 when Nick Watney picked up his fourth PGA Tour win at the AT&T National (now the Quicken Loans National).
Since then, this Donald Ross design has been changed a fair bit with the addition of some 100 bunkers as part of a $4 million restoration project.
The fairways are forgiving and easy to fit, the greens are large, undulating and quick, and the recipe for success will surely be taming the many difficult long par-4s and the par-3s that average in excess of 210 yards.
BMW Championship betting tips with Novibet
For Donald Ross course form, look to regular PGA Tour stops East Lake, home of the Tour Championship, and Sedgefield Country Club, the site of the recently-played Wyndham Championship.
Webb Simpson’s (45/1, 7 places) record at the latter is quite incredible, and at 45/1 with seven places paid, I make him the bet of the week.
Simpson, who will be on the USA side for the Ryder Cup later in the month, has enjoyed one of the best seasons of his career after bagging the Players Championship earlier in the year in some style.
Since then he’s gone on to finish as runner-up at the Wyndham a few weeks ago, and in total he’s picked up five other top-10 finishes this year, as well as finishing inside of the top-20 in every major championship start.
The 33-year-old also has two top-fives to his name at East Lake and he’s played here at Aronimink twice before, finishing eighth in his last attempt in 2011.
That’s Keel’s top tip with Novibet live betting, but where else is he looking to make some profit? Find out on the next page…
