The FedEx Cup Play-offs move onto their third leg at Aronimink this week. Who is our resident betting expert Keel Timmins backing?

While Henrik Stenson (50/1, 6 places) is badly out of form – slipping to 22nd in the world rankings – the Swede is another that plays his best golf on Ross designs and he can rekindle his form here at the restored Aronimink this week.

To be fair to Stenson, he actually hasn’t played that badly, missing just two cuts in the 16 events that he’s played this year. The problem he’s had recently is his ability to put himself in the position to contend, and that’s largely down to a putter that has been stone-cold.

Stenson hit the fourth most fairways and fifth most greens in the field last week at TPC Boston, but yet again it was the putter that was to blame for a 69th place finish.

It’s widely expected that Thomas Bjorn will pick him as part of his wildcards for the Ryder Cup, so Stenson can put that pressure behind him this week and solely concentrate on securing a good finish to make the Tour Championship. As it stands Stenson is set to miss out on the season finale, but if he has a good week with the putter, he will likely go close and secure his East Lake spot.

PGA Championship tee times

At a bigger price, Gary Woodland (80/1, 6 places) holds plenty of appeal and offers excellent each-way value.

The long-hitting American picked up the most strokes on approaches last week at the Dell Technologies and if that sort of ball-striking can continue this week, especially with the short turnaround after the Labor Day finish, then he has a good opportunity to cause an upset.

Woodland ranks fourth on tour for approaches from outside of 200 yards, and with the three lengthy par 3s here, that could be a key component to success here at Aronimink.
