Women’s golf has been given another boost as the R&A with the support of AIG have announced a significant purse increase for the 2022 Women’s Open. The purse for the event at Muirfield has been raised by 26% from last year’s tournament.

2022 AIG Women’s Open prize money

The purse for the 2022 AIG Women’s Open stands at $7.3 million, with the winner taking home $1.095 million.

The prize money for the final major of the year is 125% higher than it was in 2019 – the year AIG’s partnership with The R&A commenced. Here is the full breakdown of the purse for 2022:
