Adidas is constantly expanding its winter apparel range. The Adidas Frostguard Full-zip Padded Vest is one of their latest autumn-winter pieces. So how does it perform?

The Frostguard Full-zip Padded Vest is a good addition to your golf collection, especially if you’re a fan of gilets.

PROS

CONS

  • Slightly too big
  • Pattern might not be everyone’s taste

Adidas Frostguard Full-zip Padded Vest review: First Impressions

A gilet, or Padded Vest, in this case, isn’t something that is high up in priority for me when picking out winter clothing for the colder months. However, the Adidas Frostguard Full-zip Padded Vest, which can be worn both on and off the course can easily sway my mind.

The padded pattern might not be for everyone but I think it adds something a little different and offers a unique look and helps transition easily to post-round activities.

Adidas Frostguard Full-zip Padded Vest review: On The Course

In terms of golf performance, the Padded Vest is great and maintains a range of motion even when layering up on a cold day. This is ensured by the down insulation, which keeps your core warm to help free up your arms and stop your swing from being restricted.

The Padded Vest is finished with a durable water-repellent finish which helps stay dry in light rain and even snow if you encounter any while out on the course during the winter months.

I have the Frostguard full-zip padded vest in large, which is my usual sizing, and I felt like it was just slightly too big as it was a little baggy. I much prefer a gilet being a bit snugger and don’t mind them being slightly short. If you are between sizes, I would definitely recommend sizing down.

Adidas Frostguard Full-zip Padded Vest review: The 19th hole

The Adidas Frostguard Full-zip Padded Vest doesn’t just go with any other golf apparel, like in this picture, but I have also worn it with other “regular” clothing and it still looks great.

Still a member of Pontefract with a handicap of 3, he currently sits on the board of directors to help with digital and marketing initiatives in order to improve membership and visitor income.

Not one to change his equipment too often, Matthew currently plays the TaylorMade M2 driver which has lasted the test of time in his bag. Elsewhere, you’ll find him using the TaylorMade Stealth 2 three-wood with a Ping G425 Crossover 2-iron to aid his long game.

Through his 4-iron to Gap Wedge, Matthew uses the Ping i500 irons accompanied by Ping’s Glide 3.0 56-degree and 60-degree wedges.

Another club that has stood the test of time in his bag is a Nike Method Core MC-3i putter which has had to have the SuperStroke grip changed at least three times. Ball of choice is the Titleist ProV1.
