This episode of Putting performance principles is all about your visualisation.

In this series as a whole, you will be asked to consider the ‘art of putting’. This will involve ensuring that your mind is in the best place to allow your putting stroke to come out on a more natural basis. The ultimate aim of the series is to help you to hole more putts, shoot lower scores and have more fun on the golf course.

2 steps to becoming a better putter through your visualisation

Step 1- Stop focussing on the narrow line

Focusing your attention on trying to keep your ball on a sort of tight rope wile putting will make your stroke a bit more tense.

You don’t need to keep it on this line for the ball to go in the hole.

Step 2- Visualise a thicker line to putt down

If we visualise a line that is as thick as the hole width then holing putts will become easier.

Once you are happy with the line you can focus a little more on the pace.
