How to read your putts with Andy Sullivan
Drive for show, putt for dough as the old saying goes
Green reading can be a tough skill to learn no matter where you start. It is one of the least intuitive skills to pick up when learning the game, but knowing where to hit the putt when out on the golf course is a huge part of shooting a good score.
Improve your clutch putting with Andy Sullivan
European Tour winner Andy Sullivan gave us a putting clinic Richings Park Golf Club near Heathrow, and gave us some stellar tips for boosting your green reading skills on breaking putts.
In this video the Joburg Open winner teaches us the importance of reading all of the green, not just where we are aiming. He suggests reading the putt from behind the ball and then also from the low side of the putt. This gives you a much better look a the slope of the green, especially on longer putts.
Andy Sullivan gives us his Best & Worst of the European Tour
By doing so, we get a good idea of what our putt will do and where we are likely to aim and line up before going at the hole.
Follow Andy’s tips if you want to be an expert green reader and get your golf ball in the hole more often.
