Callaway has opted to focus their efforts on maximising speed from their new driver range. And within that lineup, the Quantum Triple Diamond Max stands out as the head most likely to catch the eye of the majority of players.

Positioned between the full Max and the traditional Triple Diamond, the Triple Diamond Max promises the ball speed and low-spin performance Callaway’s tour-inspired drivers are known for, but in a shape that looks and feels more manageable at address.

Here’s a full breakdown of its performance…

NCG SUMMARY

The Callaway Quantum Triple Diamond Max is arguably the most complete driver in the 2026 Quantum lineup. It delivers the explosive ball speed and low-spin characteristics of a traditional Triple Diamond driver, but with a more confidence-inspiring shape and higher level of forgiveness.

First Impressions

At address, the Quantum Triple Diamond Max driver immediately sets itself apart from the standard Max and Max D heads from the Quantum range.

It very much bases itself off a tour style profile with it being noticeably more compact and cleaner. It borrows the tall, confident look associated with other Triple Diamond models from previous line-ups, but with just enough added size to inspire confidence rather than fear.

Callaway Quantum Triple Max Diamond Driver

This is the first time Callaway has released a Triple Diamond Max driver and I think we’ll be seeing more of them in the future. Callaway has stripped back some of the clutter from other Quantum heads.

They have removed the Odyssey Chevron from the crown and created a sleeker, more player-focused appearance. I think it looks fast and modern behind the ball without appearing overly intimidating.

NCG Verdict

Historically, Triple Diamond drivers have freaked me out a bit because it’s quite small and, although very long, a little bit intimidating.

So I was naturally drawn to this to see if I was able to get the performance of the Triple Diamond but with it being more friendly to use.

Ball speeds consistently pushed into the low-to-mid 160mph range, with carry distances regularly approaching and exceeding 290 yards when optimised. That places it among the fastest drivers I have tested this launch season.

Elsewhere, spin rates were also notably low, occasionally dipping around the 1500rpm marker. I think those who prefer to seek a penetrating flight and strong rollout will love this.

Even when I wasn’t flushing shots, my carry numbers remained strong, which highlighted the effectiveness of the new face design. It also shows the slightly more forgiving head shape, compared to the standard Triple Diamond.

The feel was another highlight. The club felt both heavy and strong at impact which gave me a bit more confidence to swing it as harder.

Final Thoughts

The Quantum Triple Diamond Max feels like the best expression of Callaway’s renewed focus on speed for 2026. It’s not so much an evolution Callaway has undertaken with their drivers but a revolution.

I do believe this Triple Diamond Max will probably be the most popular driver of Callaway’s new driver line-up.

The performance is just as explosive as a typical triple diamond driver but it is far more playable than what its name suggests.

Callaway Epic Max driver review
Jack Backhouse

A member of the PGA for 13 years, Jack has lived golf for more than half his life. Inspired by Tiger Wood’s winning putt at the 2008 US Open, an obsession began with watching slow motion golf swings on the internet and reading What’s In The Bag articles in magazines.

Not destined for a life behind the desk in a pro shop, Jack has focussed more on coaching, working closely with regional teams in North Yorkshire and helping golfers of all levels on their journey to enjoying playing the game more. Jack has coached many junior golfers into the county teams, and once worked with a player at the 2018 Open Championship at Carnoustie.

After letting his game fall apart prior to COVID, Jack rediscovered his love for playing golf after joining Silloth Golf Club in 2020 and whipping round the windy, firm links course. Playing regularly with a half set of clubs he has a passion for shot making and developing skill, and claims to have the sharpest 30-100 yard game in the North of England (only because he doesn’t know anyone in the South), and now maintains a +1 handicap at a club much closer to home, Sand Moor GC.

Jack has always tinkered with his equipment, once building his own Frankenstein one length set of clubs after watching Bryson DeChambeau burst onto the scene after winning the US Amateur. He firmly believes in getting custom fit and is happy to debate anyone about blade irons being superior to any other iron category.

Jack loves: playing quickly, 2 ball golf, match play, heathland courses, pencil bags, foursomes, Tiger Wood’s swing 2005-2009.

Jack hates: buggies, unnecessary trees, giving shots, the 7 iron loft debate, graphite shaft lovers weird superiority complex.
