Bridgestone has long been a respected name in golf ball innovation, and the latest version of the E6 Soft carries on that legacy. NCG SUMMARY
If you’re a mid-to-high handicapper or someone with a moderate swing speed, the Bridgestone E6 Soft might be one of the best value balls on the market. It’s not built for maximum distance off the tee for high-speed players, but its soft feel and surprisingly high short-game spin make it a standout in the lower price category.

First Impressions
I think the Bridgestone E6 Soft makes a solid first impression. Despite its low price, it feels premium in hand. For me, the standout feature is the redesigned core, which is larger and softer than previous iterations and contributes to a distinctly soft feel throughout the bag.
The ball doesn’t have a urethane cover, so it lacks that premium “click” on putts. Saying this I still found that it has a muted feel off the putter face and is still satisfying and responsive.
NGC Verdict
Throughout testing the short-game performance was the headline act. For a two-piece ball, spinning the ball at 7000 rpm from 50-yard wedge shots is exceptional. That’s territory usually reserved for multi-layered urethane balls.
Additionally, I found the feel of the wedge and putter is soft and responsive, and there’s noticeable stopping power into greens for good control.
Moving into the irons. The E6 Soft performed admirably with a 7-iron in hand. My ball speed averaged a strong 117.6 mph, and while the spin rate is slightly lower than the ideal 5000 rpm, both the carry distance of 167 yards and the total yardage of 177 is highly competitive for a ball at this price point. The feel off the clubface was soft and confidence-inspiring. I’m a fan.
However, driver performance is where the E6 Soft shows its limitations. I was only able to produce a ball speed of 154 mph and a carry distance of 269 yards, which totalled 290 yards. As a result performance off the tee was slightly underwhelming compared to other options for higher swing speeds.

Spin rates were also inconsistent from the driver, which lead to some unpredictable results which will especially impact upon stronger players. That said, it’s important to remember this ball isn’t designed for tour-level swing speeds. As such it is completely usable for club golfers.
Overall, there’s a lot to like about the Bridgestone E6 Soft. It’s not going to suit everyone, particularly those with faster swing speeds, but for the golfer it is made for, it delivers superb performance where it matters most.
I felt the feel was genuinely soft, the spin was impressive for a two-piece construction and for the price is a fantastic ball Bridgestone have managed to produce.
