While we wait for Cobra’s flagship range for 2020 – watch this space – the brand have teased us with the Cobra F-Max Airspeed. Their lightest ever golf clubs developed off the back of the success of the F-Max family which were released in 2017. They feature a lighter overall club weight than their predecessor providing added forgiveness to golfers with slower swing speeds. So let’s take a closer look…
Cobra F-Max Airspeed: First impressions
You can see the F-Max upgrade for 2020 have taken some inspiration from the F9 Speedback in terms of having a sporty styling that looks fast. The black and blue theme features throughout the range and is undoubtedly eye-catching.
These are designed to be super game improvement clubs for golfers who need a club that is easy to launch and promotes faster swing speeds. They are also designed to be extremely forgiving for players with moderate swing speeds. All clubs in this range are available in both men’s and women’s flex.
Cobra F-Max Airspeed: The technology
Driver: A new carbon fibre crown allows for 10g of weight saving which is redistributed low in the club at the back of the head. This increases the MOI making the club more forgiving. The crown features a PWR ridge design to help with alignment and improve aerodynamics of the club.
Fairway woods: A shallow club-face creates a lower centre of gravity making this club extremely easy to launch. Extra weighting in the heel creates a draw bias trajectory.
Irons: Cobra have created a club weighting which is low and wide across the club-face to increase forgiveness. The weight is also heel-biased to help promote a draw shape to your ball flight. Increased loft on the irons allows for higher flight trajectory.
