NCG SUMMARY
The Cobra OPTM LS Driver is a seriously impressive low-spin option that doesn’t punish you for chasing speed. With its compact, tour-inspired shaping, clever adjustable weighting, and Cobra’s new POI technology, the performance is incredible.
Cobra has really elevated their game with this low spin option and it also comes in at a very competitive price point.

- Impressive ball speeds
- Player friendly head shape
CONS
- None
First Impressions
This is a real looker and by far the best looking of the OPTM range. At address, I thought the OPTM LS was a thing of beauty.
Cobra has opted to go with a stealthy black-on-black colourway finish here. Being the low spin model, it is obviously designed to be the most compact and player-like head in the lineup.

The shaping is clean, the leading edge sits beautifully square, and the subtle alignment lines on the face do an excellent job of framing the ball without feeling busy. It’s a driver that looks fast before you’ve even swung it.
What I would call a proper looking driver.
NCG Verdict
Out of all the drivers I tested last year, and there were plenty, the Cobra DS-Adapt LS was the fastest out of the lot. So, we know Cobra are capable of producing quick, quality drivers and they have proven it again.
On the launch monitor, the OPTM LS does exactly what it promises. Spin numbers are noticeably lower than the other OPTM heads, with strong, penetrating ball flights and impressive ball speeds.
From my experience, strikes from the middle feel powerful and stable, while even slight misses retain a surprising amount of speed and directional control. The standout impression is just how straight this low-spin driver can be when properly set up.

Without meaning to swoon too much over the Cobra OPTM LS, it was producing the perfect drives in every metric of the sense.

This could be in part down to the technology Cobra has included. The LS head features three adjustable weight ports, one located high in the toe, low in the heel, and towards the rear. They have clearly labelled positions to help dial in fade bias, accuracy, or forgiveness.
This, combined with Cobra’s FutureFit33 hosel, gives fitters, and golfers, plenty of scope to fine-tune performance. Importantly, it never feels complicated for the sake of it. The system is built on logical and is genuinely useful, that can’t be said for all modern golf clubs.
Final Thoughts
As low spin drivers go, I think the Cobra OPTM LS is a seriously strong option for a lot of golfers. The shaping is right, it’s hasn’t been over styled in terms of branding and behind the ball it looks great.
It’s fast, stable, and, perhaps most importantly, it is remarkably straight for a driver aimed at better players. This is all before mentioning it’s price point which is considerably lower than some other LS drivers.
