When winter descends upon the golf course, it brings not just a chill in the air but also additional challenges for keeping your feet warm, dry, and comfortable. Standard golf shoes may not suffice for the demanding conditions of snow, rain, and wind.
Enter winter golf boots, the heavy-duty cousins of regular golf shoes designed to provide an extra layer of protection against the elements.
In this guide, we will explore top choices from respected brands like Puma, FootJoy, Stuburt, Duca Del Cosma and Adidas to help you tee off in any weather with confidence.

Puma GS-X Efekt Golf Boot

The Puma GS-X Efekt Golf Boots really surprised me, and performed on the golf course in a way I didn’t think was possible.
They are big boots, there’s no question, and they made me feel solid and instilled a feeling of trust in my swing as my feet were planted to the grass.
This isn’t always a feeling you could have with spikeless golf footwear, but the Puma GS-X Efekt Golf Boot grew on me in both feeling and look.
You might be someone who prioritises comfort over looks. If your concerns aren’t with the size or colour of the Puma GS X Efekt Golf Boots, then you should seriously consider an investment.

These are obviously spikeless golf shoes, which is usually something I avoid when the course is wet. I often slip pushing incorrectly off my right foot in the swing, so always look for something with a lot of big spikes. Adidas’s twist grip wraparound outsole is much grippier than I was expecting, as not only did I not slip when swinging but there was no hint of slipping when scampering up steep slopes around the course.
Looking great under a pair of trousers or waterproofs, these golf shoes are a great solution to the winter footwear problem that we all face, as they are so comfortable.
PROS
- Warm
- Great traction and stability
- Very waterproof
CONS
- Slightly tight getting your foot in the sock-like upper
RRP: £160
Sizes: 3-14 UK
Colours: Black-Red / Black-Lime / White

I had absolutely no issue with wet feet during these three hours in the rain, and these boots have FJ’s standard 1-year waterproof warranty that I’m sure you could keep going for much longer if you look after them properly. The boots also have a thermal lining to help keep your feet warm. This isn’t something I needed on my test but something I look forward to as the temperature drops deep into winter.
Functionally these are brilliant, and I do recommend golfers try them if they play all year round and play a wet golf course.
PROS
- Super comfortable
- Great traction and stability
- Great in water
CONS
- Boots are not stylish
RRP: £109.99 / $130
Sizes: 6-12 UK / 7-13 US
Colours: Black

It’s also worth pointing out how comfy these boots are, I wore them in the car on the way to the course, out on the course, in the car on the way home, and then out to lunch afterwards surviving the whole day without one urge to take the boots off.
These boots have been an excellent addition to the golf wardrobe. They feel great on, keep you warm and dry, and actually look very smart. Duca Del Cosma has done a fantastic job.
PROS
- Warm
- Very comfortable to wear
- Very grippy for a spikeless shoe
CONS
- Premium price
RRP: £219 / $259 – now reduced
Sizes: 6-13 UK / 7-14 US
