Tiger’s back! PGA Tour 2K23 game given release date
It’s the news any golf fan who has ever picked up a joystick has been waiting for
We’ve known now for a year that Tiger Woods will be back on our screens in pixel form after announcing a deal with 2K to be the face of their latest PGA Tour game.
And now, after social media exploded last week when the 15-time major champion tweeted the cover art for PGA Tour 2K23, the highly anticipated new game has been given a release date!
As revealed on Monday, The PGA Tour 2K23 Deluxe Edition and the PGA Tour 2K23 Tiger Woods Edition will be released on October 11 in the latest instalment of the famous franchise.
Woods agreed to an exclusive, long-term partnership with the publisher, who last year acquired the privately-owned HB Studios, the developer of the latest iteration in the 2K series – PGA Tour 2K21 – as well as its predecessor, The Golf Club.
Woods, the face of EA Sports’ PGA Tour franchise from 1999 to 2014, will take on the role of executive director and the agreement includes rights for his name and likeness to appear exclusively in the PGA Tour 2K franchise, as well as any other golf games published by 2K during the partnership term.
“I am looking forward to making my return to the video game landscape, sharing my expertise and insights as we build the future of golf video games together,” Woods said last year.
