Ever wondered what a £545 putter looks like?

Looks like a blade but plays like a mallet. Who wouldn't want that from a putter? James Savage rounds up the latest gear releases including the new Concept X putters...

After a thrilling week up at Carnoustie for The Open it’s back to the nitty gritty of new golf equipment releases.

And the new Scotty Cameron Concept X putters have certainly caught my eye.

I spoke to the man himself a couple of months ago and asked him what putter he was using.

“I extensively test every model I bring to market. Right now, I’ve got a prototype in the bag that we’re actually going to release this year.

“It’s a brand-new offering that is a bit of a hybrid. It looks like a blade but plays like a mallet. Forgiving, with fast looks. I can’t reveal the name, but it is a new concept.”

Now we know what he was talking about.

There are two new models the CX01, which has a plumber’s neck hosel, and CX02 with a slant neck design.

Both feature ‘wings’ for more stability.

“Concept X is for the player who wants the feel and performance of a Tour-proven blade style putter, but wants to benefit from the latest technology to achieve more forgiveness,” Cameron said.

“What’s unique about these putters is that they’re fast looking and high-tech. But by making them wider, they’re more forgiving. You get a calm feeling like when you play a mallet. So, you get the best of a blade and the best of a mallet in one. It has a very elegant, high-end, industrial look.”

SRP: £545 (yikes)

GolfBuddy WTX+

GolfBuddy have upgraded their WTX watch with improved antenna strength and a stylish new look. Golfbuddy WTX+

The improved antenna strength speeds up the time for it to find a course and the time to work out distances to the hole from your angle of attack.

A stylish new strap and a new metallic finish has also been added.

SRP: £219.99

More information on the original WTX can be found here.

Adidas blue Boost

We’ve had black, now you can get blue. No, we’re not talking about Lucas Glover’s marriage.

Adidas Blue Boost

Adidas are now offering their popular, and ridiculously comfortable, Boost golf shoes in a blue.

The limited edition colour is available in their Tour 360 Knit and Crossknit 2.0 models while stocks last.

SRP: £149.95/£119.95

More information can be found on the Adidas website.

Garmin CT10 game-tracking

Garmin have found their way onto the game-tracking bandwagon through the new CT10 sensors.

Garmin CT10

This is actually a great idea as the CT10 is just a box of sensors that can be added to your golf clubs then paired with an existing Garmin device.

Compatible models are the Approach S60 and S20.

When paired with the sensors, the watch will tell the player how far they’ve typically hit with that club.

Based on movement and impact the Approach CT10 sensors will know which club is being used for each shot.

SRP: £249.99

More information can be found on the Garmin website.
