Mirroring the name of this year’s carbonwood range, the TaylorMade Stealth irons are packed with technology.
The irons develop on the previous Cap Back design of the SIM2 Max and SIM2 Max OS by taking the concept of a hollow iron, but replacing the steel typically found on the back of the club face with a polymer composite cap.
The result is an increase in both flexion and forgiveness. Put simply, the Stealth irons are designed to go high and far, with the centre of gravity a key consideration within their design, ensuring they remain easy to launch.
TaylorMade tout the Stealth as the “new look of a game improvement iron”, and we can see why – with less overall size versus traditional irons in this category.
Plus, with their Echo Dampening System giving the sound and feeling of a forged iron, those seeking a little more help need not be deafened by the increased frequency usually associated with game improvement clubs.

The TaylorMade P790 range has been an overwhelming success in the players’ distance category for several years, and as such as been retained for a third generation.
The SpeedFoam of past releases has been replaced by a new SpeedFoam air which is 69% lighter than its predecessor, allowing the designers to redistribute this weight elsewhere in the head to increase forgiveness. Like the Stealth, attention has also been given to ensuring the hollow-headed design still feels great, with this also helped by a forged face.
