Nothing feels like a Mizuno but nothing feels better than winning a set of Mizuno irons and wedges – just ask our competition winner Ben Clayton.
The Mizuno European Tour Truck rolled into Moor Allerton Golf Club on Saturday October 3 where golfers had the unique opportunity to test and get fitted into the new MP-25 and MP-5 irons along with the stunning new S5 wedges.
J Whitaker Golf – Mizuno’s regional fitting centre based at Moor Allerton – had managed all of the bookings on the day.
Ben was one of around 20,000 people who entered our competition to win the full tour pro experience – and get his hands on either the MP-25 or MP-5 irons and the S5 wedges – a prize worth over £1,000.
Ben, who plays off 13 had never had an irons fitting before – or even a golf lesson.
The shafts in his current irons had far too much flex so after being put on the shaft optimiser he was fitted into some extra stiff Dynamic Gold x100 shafts.
He opted for the heads of the new MP-25 irons – Mizuno’s fastest-selling irons ever – which offer fantastic ball speeds and forgiveness thanks to boron-fueled technology.
He was fitted into two of the S5 wedges with Dynamic Gold S300 shafts.
“I’m a very happy man,” Ben said. “It’s nice to be able to feel where the clubbed is now with the extra stiff shafts.
“It makes such a difference to have the right equipment and have it properly fitted.”
