Golf Betting Tips – Valero Texas, LIV Golf Miami and more…

San Antonio, Doral, the LPGA Match Play… There is plenty going on this week in the world of golf, but who are our betting tips for glory?

It’s the week before the Masters and there’s both PGA Tour and LIV Golf action, but who are our betting tips for victory?

The Valero Texas Open will feature a strong field at TPC San Antonio, as players aim to get their games in shape ahead of a visit to Augusta National in a week’s time.

Meanwhile, the LIV Golf League returns to the United States after its Asian double-header, with Miami hosting an individual event for the first time.

Don’t forget to scroll all the way to the bottom for a great sign-up offer with bet365!

Who will be victorious this week? Matt Coles takes a look at this week’s action…

Valero Texas Open golf betting tips and preview

Venue: Oaks Course at TPC San Antonio, San Antonio, Texas, United States
Date: April 4-7, 2024
Course stats: Par 72, 7,438 yards
Defending champion: Corey Conners (-15)

Byeong-Hun An @ 28/1 with bet365

TPC San Antonio is a course that Byeong-Hun (Ben) An seems to enjoy, with two top-ten finishes in the last five years. He is also in good form coming into the 2024 Valero Texas Open. He has three top-tens so far in 2024, including a runner-up finish at the Sony Open in Hawaii. An is good money at 28/1 for victory this week.

Charley Hoffman @ 100/1 each way with bet365

Charley Hoffman golf betting tips

My outside bet this week is a previous winner of the Valero Texas Open – Charley Hoffman. The 2016 champion is also a three-time runner-up at TPC San Antonio, most recently in 2021. At 100/1, Hoffman is definitely worth an each-way bet this week in Texas.

Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy is the favourite for victory at TPC San Antonio, coming in at 7/1.

LIV Golf Miami golf betting tips and preview

Venue: Blue Monster at Trump National Doral, Miami, Florida, United States
Date: April 5-7, 2024
Course stats: Par 72, 7,701 yards

Miami plays host to an individual event for the first time, having been the host to the Team Championship in both 2022 and 2023.

Bryson DeChambeau @ 10/1 with bet365

Big-hitting Bryson DeChambeau is the third favourite for victory at the Blue Monster this week. With the course playing at over 7,700 yards, DeChambeau will be aiming to take the course apart with his distance, and at 10/1, he is a worthy shout for his first LIV Golf victory of 2024.

bryson dechambeau

Patrick Reed @ 40/1 with bet365

At 40/1, Patrick Reed is somewhat of an outside bet. However, the American has been victorious on the Blue Monster at Trump National Doral in the past. He was the winner of the 2014 WGC-Cadillac Championship, and although he has not had the best start to the 2024 season, this could be the week that his year finally gets underway!

Spaniard Jon Rahm is 13/2, while Joaquin Niemann is 7/1. They are the two favourites this week in Miami.

What else is going on in the world of golf this week?

There is plenty of other action going on this week, with the Ladies European Tour and LPGA Tour both having tournaments.

The Ladies European Tour is Down Under for the second week in succession. Following on the NSW Women’s Open is the Australian Women’s Classic.

Meanwhile, the LPGA Tour’s match play competition takes place this week. The T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards begins on Wednesday, and runs for five days.

Here are our tips for betting glory in these two golf tournaments.

Ayaka Furue @ 18/1 to win the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards with bet365

The tournament features a new format this year, with three days of stroke play competition before the top eight players make it through to the weekend, where it becomes a straight knockout match play event.

Ayaka Furue

Losing finalist in 2022. Losing finalist in 2023. This is the year that Ayaka Furue finally gets the victory at the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards. In 2024 alone, Furue has four top-eight finishes in stroke play events, so she has a great chance of making it into the match play section. From there, the Japanese star is my favourite to win the title!

After her three successive victories, Nelly Korda is the outright favourite to make it four in a row. She is 13/2 for victory.

Bronte Law @ 7/1 to win the Australian Women’s Classic with bet365

With a victory already to her name, and having finished runner-up on Sunday at the NSW Women’s Open, Bronte Law is in great form. The Englishwoman is the favourite to take the title this week at Bonville!

Mention a European country, and Matt will tell you which resorts make the National Club Golfer Top 100s: European Resorts list. He might even throw in who designed the golf course and how many rooms the hotel has got at each one…

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.

He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.

Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…

Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
