Jason Day wins CJ Cup Byron Nelson 2023 golf betting tips

Golf Betting Tips – CJ CUP Byron Nelson, LIV Singapore and more…

Texas, Singapore, China, Barbados… There is plenty going on this week in the world of golf, but who are our betting tips for glory?

From team events, to stroke play, to 54 holes, there is something for everyone in professional golf this week, but who are our betting tips?

After the team aspect of the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, which saw Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry team up for victory, the PGA Tour returns to normality with an individual stroke play event. The CJ CUP Byron Nelson takes place in Texas this week.

Meanwhile, the LIV Golf League rounds out its eastern double-header with LIV Golf Singapore, five days on from an incredible finish at LIV Golf Adelaide.

Who will win? Matt Coles takes a look at this week’s action…

The CJ CUP Byron Nelson golf betting tips and preview

Venue: TPC Fort Worth, McKinney, Texas, United States
Date: May 2-5, 2024
Course stats: Par 71, 7,414 yards
Defending champion: Jason Day (-23)

Jason Day @ 20/1 with bet365

He is the defending champion, he’s won this event twice, and I fancy Jason Day to win the CJ CUP Byron Nelson for a third time this week! He is the second favourite to defend his title, and a course he clearly enjoys playing at. The victory in 2023 was his first on the PGA Tour for five years. At 20/1, he won’t have to wait that long this time!

K.H. Lee @ 50/1 with bet365

K H Lee golf betting tips

Okay, so I’ve gone for the two men that have won this tournament at TPC Craig Ranch. K.H. Lee is a two-time winner of the tournament, taking victory at the CJ CUP Byron Nelson in both 2021 and 2022. He also has two top ten finishes this year, including a T4 at the Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches. At 50/1 Lee could well be worth a few quid this week…

LIV Golf Singapore golf betting tips and preview

Venue: The Serapong Course, Sentosa GC, Singapore
Date: May 3-5, 2024
Course stats: Par 72, 7,400 yards
Defending champion: Talor Gooch (-17)

Dean Burmester @ 18/1 with bet365

With three top tens in his last three outings, including a victory at LIV Golf Miami, Dean Burmester is one of the most inf-form golfers in the world right now. At 18/1, I fancy the South Africa to do well this week at Sentosa GC.

LIV golfer hops over to DP World Tour... and wins!

Sergio Garcia @ 22/1with bet365

The Spaniard is a two-time runner-up already in the 2024 LIV Golf League season, having lost out in a play-off to Joaquin Niemann in the season-opener, before finishing a shot behind Burmester in Miami. Sergio Garcia is still awaiting his first victory in the PIF-backed league, and this could well be the week that he does so!

Stinger GC @ 6/1 to win the Team Event with bet365

After narrowly missing out against home side Ripper GC in a sudden death playoff on Sunday, Stinger GC will be determined to battle back and take the victory this week in Singapore. The South African quartet at 6/1 to win at Sentosa.

What else is going on in the world of golf this week?

There is plenty of other action going on this week, with events on plenty of other tours!

The Volvo China Open takes place on the DP World Tour, while the European Legends Tour gets underway for 2024 this week in Barbados. The PGA Champions Tour’s Insperity Invitational makes it two senior events in the first week of May.

Who will take victory at these tournaments? Check out our picks for success below…

Haotong Li @ 22/1 to win the Volvo China Open with bet365

After spending a few weeks away from the sport, Haotong Li came back to the DP World Tour at the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan. He finished T17 after a final round of 2-over, but he was well in contention through three days. Add in the fact that he will be playing on home soil this week at the Volvo China Open, and he’s my pick for glory!

Farmers Insurance Open Golf Betting Tips – who wins at Torrey Pines?

Peter Baker @ 13/2 to win the Barbados Legends with bet365

Peter Baker seemingly won it all on the European Legends Tour last year. Could he start the 2024 season in the same form? He is the third favourite for the victory in Barbados this week, coming in at 13/2.

Paul Broadhurst @ 25/1 to win the Insperity Invitational with bet365

After winning at the Invited Celebrity Classic, and then leading at the halfway stage of last week’s Mitsubishi Electric Classic, Paul Broadhurst is in great form. The Englishman is 25/1 to win for a second time on the PGA Champions Tour this season.

Matt Coles

Mention a European country, and Matt will tell you which resorts make the National Club Golfer Top 100s: European Resorts list. He might even throw in who designed the golf course and how many rooms the hotel has got at each one…

Matt got into the game of golf from a young age, following his old man to the local golf club. He fell for the sport, and now can’t seem to go a day without thinking about how to improve his game (Thanks Dad!). Matt has been a member of Howley Hall GC in Leeds since 2020, and is just about managing to maintain a single-figure handicap. He likes to remind people that he once broke 75, but won’t tell people that it was on a shortened course during the winter.

He moved to Leeds after graduating from the University of Central Lancashire with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Journalism. Matt joined NCG after almost five years travelling the world with the Professional Squash Association, working on events in all four corners of the globe.

Matt currently plays a Cobra King LTDx driver and RadSpeed 3-wood. TaylorMade monopolise the rest of his bag, with a SIM UDI, M5 irons and both Milled Grind and HI-TOE wedges, along with a Monza Redline putter. He uses a Vice Pro Plus golf ball, because he’s a bit different…

Away from golf, Matt is a Manchester United fan, and a keen runner, having ran the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon (his first and possibly last), in May 2023.
