The best of the best! We roundup the Best golf hoodies 2025.
Possible the most divisive piece of golf apparel on the market. The golf hoodie has divided opinions stronger than pineapple being allowed on pizza, at times.
Some say they resemble everything golf shouldn’t be, rolling out all the cliches about golf being a sport of tradition. Others have no problem moving with the times. But I guess you’re all here because you side with those rocking the golf hoodie.
There certainly isn’t a shortage of options to choose from. Whether you’re looking for style, performance or a mix of both, we’ve got you covered.
So, enough chat, here are a few of our favourites on the market for 2025…
Best Golf Hoodies 2025
Under Armour Drive Midlayer Jacquard Hoodie
Having crept into my 50s, I have never been sure about where hoodies fit on the golf course. I have always assumed that the hood would become a minor annoyance, especially in stronger winds.
This Jacquard Hoodie really changed my mind. The neck line and hood are incredibly comfortable and provide a really warm barrier in blustery conditions. The material was very comfortable to wear, with a soft feel, brushed interior giving a great barrier to the cold.
The detailing on the hoodie looks great, especially in the sun and I had plenty of admirers when I got back in the clubhouse.
Despite the high winds, the hood didn’t bother me once and had no interference with my swing. This will quickly become a go to sweater for the Autumn / Winter seasons.
The Puma Cloudspun Tech Hoodie is so stylish. The light blue colour is great to look at, and it is a really smart colour that will no doubt prove popular this Autumn and Winter. I usually like wearing dark colours on the golf course, and I don’t venture too far out of the ordinary. But sky blue is one colour I will go to, one colour I am prepared to meet you at. I can see myself wearing this hoodie both on the golf course and out in public too, and that is something I am often hesitant to do. I usually avoid wearing golf clothes in public.
The material is good and tight. I wouldn’t say it is a roomy piece of clothing, but you know where you stand with it. You still have a full range of movement, and the fabric is stretchy which I like. Puma meets you halfway with this hoodie. There is plenty swing room, but it also has a skintight feel, which gives you the feel of an athlete.
As part of Stubert’s 2025 Spring/Summer release, they have released the Grouse Men’s golf hoody. A smart looking golf hoody available in four colourways, green, blue, grey and black. I got to test the green version which admittedly I wasn’t sure on when seeing it online but I have to say seeing it in the flesh it looked really good. The hoody was extremely comfortable and the fit is brilliant for playing golf in. It sits slightly on the long side which I prefer for playing golf in as it doesn’t rise up all the time when you’re swinging. The hood also isn’t too big that it swings around your neck/head when you hit your shot which is also quite annoying! The design is really simple and therefore smart with only a couple of branding spots of Stuburt, you could quite easily where this off the course as well.
The Grouse hoody is one of my favourite items this year and to say it is available for only £40 (at the time of writing) it could well be the golf apparel bargain of 2025 in my opinion! If you need a stock up of layers for your golf attire this summer, look no further.
The Adidas Ultimate365 Elevated Hoodie is part of the ‘Tour’ clothing range from adidas Golf and you’ll probably see loads of golfers wearing this item on the TV this year.
It is produced from a series of high-performance recycled materials and looks as good on the course as off. It’s soft to touch which makes it great for chilling out at home and the lightweight material also makes it great to carry in your golf bag for that additional warmth or water-resistant item. Which we all need over the UK summers.
I tried the dark blue one, which I really liked. Must say I’ve never worn a hoodie on the golf course before, it’s not really my thing. I did struggle slightly as it was a windy day, and the hood kept blowing in the wind when I was addressing the ball before I played my shot. Which was slightly off putting.
I think this will be more useful to me off the course than on the course, as I’ve said I’m more of a traditionalist, therefore hoodies on the course is not really my thing. Found it excellent for going down to the gym or just relaxing at home, as it was extremely soft and comfy to wear.
I usually don’t go for hoodies, but I decided to give this one a try, and honestly, I’m glad I did. It’s surprisingly lightweight but keeps me warm — I was expecting something bulkier.
The fleece feels soft and comfy, and the stretch means I can move easily without feeling restricted. I wore it on a breezy morning at the golf course, and it handled the light rain well, thanks to the water-repellent finish.
The fit is sleek, and the hood stays put without being tight. I also liked the thermal cuffs and hem—they really help trap heat when it’s chilly.
Overall, I was impressed. It’s a simple, effective piece that I’ll actually wear, even as someone who usually skips hoodies.

Good stretch
Hood was not a distraction when swinging

Golf hoodies are here to stay. Having now tried a few, I do see the benefit beyond purely the fashion statement. Ping’s Nexa hooded half-zip fleece is one of their offerings in this genre.
As with much golf apparel a lot of thought has gone into its design. It is bright and attractive without being garish. The material is soft and stretchy and being fleece lined is wonderfully warm.
The fleece extends into the hood, so it becomes a genuinely helpful addition in keeping you warm instead of being just a fashion statement.

Hands up, I am not a golf hoodie wearer – until this year! The Sunderland hoodie made me view these items in a different light. Dare I say, I am a hoodie convert! I absolutely loved this Peter Millar hoodie.
The fit is perfect – snug but not tight, and it moves easily with me. The stretch is impressive, making it super comfortable during swings (and walks).
I was surprised at how warm it kept me, even on a cooler day, without feeling bulky. The fabric felt soft and breathable, so I never felt overheated.
I also liked how easy it was to care for – just toss it in the wash and dry.
Overall, this hoodie is a great mix of comfort, style, and warmth. It’s become my go-to piece for golf days and casual wear. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a hoodie that fits well and feels great.
PROS
Lightweight yet warm
Great fit and stretch
Easy care

The Grouse hoody is part of Stuburt’s Autumn / Winter collection in 2025. A smart garment available in 4 colourways. Similarly to the Crane pull over, the design is simple and sleek. A plain colour throughout with some subtle Stuburt branding on the arm only. There is two drawstring to adjust the tightness of the hood and a couple of front pockets for some storage. It is also extremely easy to wear when playing golf, the fit of it sits nicely around your body to allow for unrestricted movement, but still sits well enough to keep you warm. Due to the plain styling of the garment, this would be easily worn off the golf course as well The Grouse hoody is well worth considering if you’re looking for an extra item to battle the colder elements this winter. Looks smart, keeps you warm and an excellent price point of £39.99.
We’ve come a long way with golf fashion, haven’t we? It wasn’t that long ago that Tyrrell Hatton sent some golf clubs into a spin when wearing to don a hoodie when winning the BMW at Wentworth. Now hoodies are everywhere and even the most frowning of club committees have had to accept defeat.
I’ve accepted the trend enthusiastically – my wife tells me my cupboard full of hoodies is far too many for one soul – so I’d like to think I know the subject.
They usually come in two kinds, ultra-thin or designed for the Arctic, so much credit must go to Original Penguin for designing one that manages to sit right in the middle – where it’s certainly needed most.
It’s got substance to it, but it’s not too heavy. It’s sturdy but it also stretches where required. And, most importantly, it’s lovely and warm.
It feels silky, presumably down to the near 20 per cent viscose, used in its construction and you can move the drawstring about to keep the hood in place if the weather turns unkind (no more flapping hoods during the downswing!)
I like the larger feel of the Pete mascot on the chest and the front pocket isn’t just somewhere to warm your hands, like lots of hoodies. You can put stuff in it.
It feels like it’s going to last for a long time and the colour scheme is modern without possibly offending anyone who might be still on the fence with hoodies.
This will be mandatory autumn and winter wear for me.
PROS:
A very good weigh
Silky feel
Modern but understated styling will keep you out of the committee doghouse
Hoodies are becoming all the rage on the golf course these days, and Original Penguin have done their best work with the Performance Earl Golf Hoodie. If you’re a golfer that doesn’t mind the chilly weather, then this hoodie is perfect for you. Made from a single-knit mixture of nylon and elastane, the fabric fits well, but remains stretchy to allow for an unrestricted golf swing. The hood is perfect should you need it to cover your ears at times in between shots, while the material is also moisture wicking should the temperature start heating up while you are out on the course. It is a thinner material than some, so if it does start to get too cold, then you may need to layer up some more, but for that gap between summer and winter, the Performance Earl Golf Hoodie is spot on!
With hoodies becoming more and more prominent on the golf course, the FootJoy ThermoSeries Pullover Hoodie might well become a part of my golfing wardrobe!
This piece is made with moisture-wicking technology to keep water off the body, while the ‘Raglan Sleeve Construction’ allows for greater freedom of movement. It is very comfortable and fits well, with no restrictions when it comes to the golf swing.
The only issue I would have with the ThermoSeries Pullover Hoodie is the lack of pockets to put your hands in on a cold day. There is one pocket, but it is at chest level on the right side of the design.
Despite that, this offering from FootJoy is certainly something you should take a look at if you are in the market for a hoodie on the golf course.
In conclusion, investing in a quality golf hoodie can be a stylish and practical way for golfers to stay warm this winter.
With options that offer warmth, breathability, and a range of designs, there’s something for everyone. By choosing the right hoodie, you can focus on your game without the distraction of the chill in the air.
Whether you prefer a more contemporary or casual look this winter, these hoodies will keep you at the top of your game all winter long.
