Equipment: Nike CounterFlex putter weight system announced
Nike have announced the release of their CounterFlex technology which involves a moveable 75-gramme weight system inside the putter grip that can be adjusted with a 15-inch slide.
This new tech changes the swing weight, in a bid to give the player anchor-like stability and is adjustable to any stroke type.
Coming as an add-on to the new Method Converge putters, after research at Nike’s premier golf facility, The Oven, this new option offers players another avenue to explore if still in transition from longer anchored putters.
“Our research tells us that only 30 percent of golf athletes found his or her best match of rhythm and tempo when the weight was locked in the top of the slide, as is the case with most fixed mass counter-balanced putters.
“The remaining 70 percent played better when the 75 grams were located in the middle or bottom position, explained David Franklin, Nike Master Modelmaker.
“With CounterFlex we have infinite positions for the weight so athletes can actually tune it to get their delivery and timing smoothed out and perfect at impact.”
The Nike Method Converge putter with CounterFlex is available at nike.com and select retailers starting at approximately £140.
