I have to say that the whole range of stuff they produce does seem to achieve this. There really is an embarrassment of riches when choosing golf apparel now and the Daily Pro Hybrid Plus is another option to consider when looking at golf shoes. The style and name leave no mysteries to the purpose of these shoes. They are a shoe built for comfort, potentially to be worn all day. I can definitely imagine these to be ideal for a club pro who is mixing running their shop with nipping out to the practice area to give a lesson.
Reviewing the specs, they have a spikeless sole and waterproof, synthetic upper with a breathable air-mesh liner. They describe their comfortable and signature cushioning system as providing the perfect balance between lightweight comfort and athletic performance.
The spikeless sole has reverse lugs which they claim provide all-terrain traction. Their appearance is on the casual side which I liked. The design has contrast between the mesh tongue and edging, upper and sole as well as some stitching on the upper and some relief pattern to give an appealing look.
Fortunately they have a decent range of half sizes available so you should be able to get a good fit. I walked around in them for some time before going onto the practice ground and course and they really did feel like my everyday comfortable shoes.
On to the practice ground they provided sufficient support such that I did not feel like they were giving way when I was hitting balls. So, while they were not as rigid as some golf shoes, lack of support did not seem an issue.
The soles are actually really grippy. Much more so than I expected from first glance. It was fairly dry when I tested them so have not really put them to the test under slippier conditions.
Given the choice, I am not sure I would set out in a deluge with these shoes, but I would have no concern if it did start to rain while wearing them. The waterproof uppers do add some versatility to them.
NCG: The final verdict
So who are these shoes for? If you live in a country where most of your golf is played in dry weather and you are only combating wet weather occasionally, then they may function as your main shoes. If that is not the case then, in my opinion, they are a great second pair.
For me, these are ideal during the drier summer months and if you are spending a bit more time at your club. Perhaps going from the practice ground to the course, then to the bar, having something to eat and then maybe having a quick lap of the practice putting green.
TravisMathew have produced an excellent shoe that fulfils all of its objectives. It is definitely a go-to shoe for better weather but with enough weather resistance to add some versatility.
