Ram FX-02 CNC Milled Mallet Putter: First Impressions
I saw this putter in amongst a group of other clubs and thought that it looked nice. The blacked out shaft was sleek and the quilted headcover design was smart. I picked the putter up and saw it was a Ram putter. This is a cheaper brand in the world of golf and so I was pleasantly surprised how nice this putter looked for its price point.
The Ram logo is at the back of the putter and is almost impossible to see in certain lights. I guess this is done purposely to make the putter as blacked out as possible. The black finish is nice though.

I’m a huge fan of mallet putters and this one didn’t disappoint, the style and shape of the FX-02 certainly suited my eye. I really liked that the black head had bold white alignment lines, even if it they weren’t continued onto the top of the putter.
As I mentioned the headcover features a crisscross quilted design which looks nice. It has a Velcro fastening which I personally don’t mind and overall it sat well on the putter.
Ram FX-02 CNC Milled Mallet Putter: The verdict
For a putter that’s £79.99 I couldn’t wait to see how it performed on the course.
The first couple of putts I hit with the FX-02 I noticed that it came off a little firmer than my current putter. The face is packed with new technology for Ram. They have used a CNC milling, aimed at creating consistent contact with each stroke. This will help golfers by providing extra forgiveness in the stroke.

I really enjoyed how easy this putter was to line up thanks to the three alignment lines. The black matte black design is tactical from Ram as not only does it create a high contrast between the face and the ball but it also helps to reduce glare when over a putt.

This putter comes with a blacked out rounded midsize grip which I really liked. It had spongy feel yet was still firm enough to grip nicely.

Overall, I really enjoyed using this putter and couldn’t recommend it more for anyone who wants a great looking putter on a budget.
This is one of many new putters in Ram’s new FX putter range so if this one isn’t for you there are other designs to choose from.
