Mizuno M.Craft X P4 Putter Review: NCG Summary

4.5 star review
NCG SUMMARY

Firstly, regardless of the style I love the interchangeable concept. I think it gives so much option to a player.

I tested the P4 version, which has a plumbers neck and a mallet style head shape. This is the sort of head shape I prefer and it sat nicely behind the ball. The overall look was very sleek. The head does come with the option to change the weights, I had the 7’s in and would have probably preferred something slightly heavier.

The lampkin grip was a nice shape and feel. The head cover was also very well designed, looking great and having a magnetic fasten.

Mizuno M.Craft X P4 Putter review: First Impressions

Mizuno isn’t a brand that I typically think of when it comes it putters, I’m not sure I’ve even tried one of their previous model. Yet, for 2025 they’ve come out with a concept that changes the world of putting. The P4 style of one of nine model options in the new M.Craft X range. Featuring a plumbers neck bend and.a mallet head shape.

Picking this putter up for the first time I really liked how it looked. This is a shape of putter that I enjoy using. The whole thing was pretty much blacked out with the exception of the alignment lines on the top of the head. These were in a contrasting white colour way which made seeing them nice and easy.

The head cover that came with this putter also had a pretty cool design. It was also great quality having a fleece lined inner with a metal fastening.

Mizuno M.Craft X P4 Putter: The Verdict

I was really excited to take this putter out on the course. Firstly, I will say that this putter comes with weights underneath that can be changed. I tested this putter with 7’s at the bottom and the head was probably a little lighter than I’m use to. Nevertheless, I enjoyed how the golf ball felt off the face.

With that said, off the face this putter is a little softer than my current Cleveland. It has a CNC-milled face, which is designed to offer precise consistency across the whole face.

The concept behind the new M.Craft putter’s is that it offers a blade style, more shallow centre of gravity. Meaning a player can have better feel and control. This is combined with a larger head, giving stability that you’d find in a mallet putter.

Mizuno M.Craft X Four Putter Review

This putter comes with a blacked out rounded midsize grip which I really liked. It had spongy feel yet was still firm enough to grip nicely.

Mizuno M.Craft X Four Putter Review

I have a pretty straight putting stroke but the P4 has 20° of toe hang, meaning it’s more set up for a  player with a slight arc. I still holed plenty of putts with it and enjoyed using it.

Overall, I enjoyed using this putter and with some heavier weights in the base I would certainly reach for it again on the greens.
