Under Armour haven’t released a new women’s spikeless golf shoe for a few years now. Their previous Under Armour HOVR Drive Clarino model was one of my favourite golf shoes ever, so I was eager to get my hands on this model to see how it compares.

These have quickly become my go-to pair of golf shoes as they are extremely comfortable, provide great grip and the neutral styling means these match pretty much every outfit.
Straight away, I really liked the sporty styling of these and the subtle detailing. The white and blue neutral colour palette is very subtle and means you can wear this with a wide variety of outfits which is excellent.
Mainly I was excited to try these as I love a spiked shoe and the traction on these looks excellent.
On Course Testing
I have put these shoes through some serious testing, out in Aphrodite Hills Cyprus and also back here in the UK. I am a UK size 6, and a size 6 in these fit perfectly. I really like the fact these have a decent width and aren’t as narrow as some women’s golf shoes on the market.
The upper of this shoe is a breathable, durable microfiber leather upper with a waterproof membrane. While this wasn’t put to the test in Cyprus it has been back over here in the UK. These have helped my feet stay dry in downpours and also while searching for my ball in thick wet rough. Which is definitely impressive.
One thing Under Armour takes very seriously is traction. They work closely with JJ Rivet, one of the most famous golf biomechanists in the world to ensure their shoes are delivering the best grip so you can generate more power. To do this there shoes are designed from the ground up to deliver best in class traction.

In this shoe, that has led to the inclusion of nine spikes on the sole. These are Under Armour’s own Rotational Resistance (RST 2.0) spikes designed for lockdown horizontal traction and comfort.
Underfoot these feature what Under Armour call a charged cushioning midsole. This uses compression molded foam which makes these feel very soft and responsive underfoot. I also found this stops your foot feeling tired before the end of a round.
I also really like the fact these have thick material around the ankle that is soft, so doesn’t rub, but also supports the ankle really well.
These shoes have survived through light rain, heavy rain and thick wet grass when looking for my golf ball and I am pleased to report my feet have stayed dry throughout. This is key for my fellow UK golfers who play golf in a wide variety of weather, usually throughout each round.
The 19th hole
Given this is a spiked shoe, it isn’t very versatile when it comes to on-course and off-course wear. Personally for me this isn’t an issue as this is very much a shoe I would wear for competitions before swapping to something more casual after my round.
Overall I have really enjoyed testing this shoe, and it has quickly become my go-to pair for competition rounds.
