Famed by YouTube golf giants the Bryan Bros and Grant Horvat, Takomo is a direct to consumer offering and golf’s latest trendy brand. Takomo offer a range of golf clubs at a more affordable price.
Although they have claimed plenty of praise for their irons, this is the brand’s first go at making and releasing a range of fairway woods. Read our Takomo Ignis Fairway wood review to find out what we made of them…
NCG SUMMARY
This is a really easy to hit and forgiving fairway wood. Typically fairways are one of the hardest golf clubs in the bag to hit but there is no such issue with this Takomo Ignis club. Plenty of club golfers who are less bothered about gaining maximum distance and are more focused on striking the ball cleaner can put this into play.
For a really reasonable price golfers can utilise a club that feels great and is nice to use. It’s not often you can say that about fairway woods.

Takomo Ignis Fairway Wood Review: First Impressions
For the sake of a comparison and the colour scheme of this fairway wood remind me of that of a Tesla car. I know, it’s a stretch but bear with me. The matte black carbon crown paired with the glossy and sandblasted black steel gives Tesla vibes.
I think a direct to consumer brand having a carbon crown is quite a special touch and means golfers really are getting the best bang for their buck.
It has a noticeably chunky hosel, with the joint being more enlarged than other fairway woods. The profile of club head is also particularly deep
Takomo Ignis Fairway Wood Review: NCG Verdict
Despite being on the lower end of the price range of some fairway woods, this Takomo Ignis fairway wood still has plenty of tech in the head. This club still has most of the tech other fairways have on the market that were released this year, but at a lower price.
First of all, the crown is constructed from carbon which is a great addition to have in a golf that offers a lot of value for money.
Located in the back of the club head is a big weight, the size of which is adjustable. This means golfers can affect the launching conditions of it depending on what they want from their driver. This highlights a strong level of adjustability.
At address the club face feels as if it is sitting slightly upright, visually favouring a draw. There is plenty of spin on offer as well as a reasonable carry distances.

I achieved an average total distance of 235 yards throughout testing. This is around 10 yards down on the 2025 Cobra, Ping and Callaway fairways.
The sound was pleasing and was replicated through the feeling off the face. The Takomo Ignis fairway wood has quite an old school feeling to it which for me was a pleasant surprise in a nostalgic way.
Overall, I would label this Takomo fairway wood as a bit of a throw back. It terms of how to feels, sounds and performed – launched and spun higher than other 3-woods I have tested this year – this reminds me of a fairway wood of yesteryear.
These definitely are not negatives and obviously it doesn’t reminisce a Persimmon golf club. It actually feels like one of the smoothest 3-woods I have used and I love the way it looks both at address and in the bag.
The only concern I had was that the ball speed was down on what I would want from my swing speed. The club is extremely hittable but lacks the hotness off the face that some other fairway woods have. Through the air the flight looks good but the strikes just weren’t going as far.
