Twenty years after redefining what golf shoes could be, the adidas TOUR360 returns with a limited-edition release. Max McVittie has the lowdown.
Adidas is marking two decades of one of golf’s most influential footwear franchises with the launch of a limited-edition TOUR360 20th Anniversary model — a tribute to the original design that changed the game back in 2005.
Few golf shoes have left as deep an imprint on the game of golf as the Adidas TOUR360s. Casual and sporty golf style is seen as the norm now, but when the first TOUR360 hit the fairways, it challenged tradition. At a time when golf shoes were conservative in both looks and performance, Adidas went down an athletic look that was seen as revolutionary at the time. For the first time, golfers were made to look and feel like athletes.
Two decades later, the TOUR360 golf shoe remains a benchmark for performance. They are worn by more than 100 men’s and women’s professional champions. There is no denying their pedigree over the years with 12 major champions rocking them on their way to victory. Countless amateurs also take advantage of the same stability and confidence from tee to green.
Old School Look, New School Tech
Adidas have gone for a retro look. They have honoured the 20th Anniversary model by taking inspiration from the looks of its 2005 counterpart. The bold black, red, and white colourway pays homage to the original that has started this incredible line of golf shoes.
Although this hasn’t stopped Adidas from also fusing them with their most recent technologies. The waterproof premium leather upper combines with adidas’ latest cushioning technologies. This includes their LIGHTSTRIKE feature in the forefoot for responsive comfort and BOOST in the heel for energy return.
For practical and performance purposes, Adidas has also included the TORSION TUNNEL and 360WRAP system to help deliver stability through the swing. Additionally, a 7-spike THINTECH TPU outsole offers grip in all conditions.
For a touch of nostalgia, adidas added subtle anniversary details such as “est. 2005” embossed on the tongue. Other notable touches include a replica silver adidas dome logo on the heel, and gunmetal eyelets engraved with ‘20’.

Even the packaging nods to the franchise’s legacy, with each pair arriving in a collector’s box showcasing CAD drawings of every TOUR360 model released since 2005.
“20 years ago, TOUR360 challenged traditions by introducing a bold, athletic, high performing product that looked and performed unlike anything else”, said Mason Denison, Global Footwear Director of Adidas Golf. “Over the next 20 years TOUR360 became an icon and we never changed our mindset; pushing the limits of innovation and performance across more than 10 iterations of the franchise. The 20th Anniversary TOUR360 will be available in limited quantities from November 6, 2025, on adidas.co.uk / adidas.com, via the adidas app, and at select retailers worldwide.
